Who are you?

I'm sorry, I didn't see you standing there! My name is Andrew Lowry and want to be your next Shopify Guru!

What's your story?

I am 23 years old, from the small town of Belleville, Ontario and I was brought to Ottawa by education. In other words, I am currently in my last semester of finishing up an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (major in Marketing) at the University of Ottawa.

In order to fund my own education, I have been working for Apple Inc., at their retail store in the Rideau Centre. In fact, I am one of what we call "the originals," meaning I helped open the store and have been with the company for over 4 years now.

Why Shopify?

I have been intrigued by Shopify since my early days of working at Apple. I will always remember assisting a variety of Shopify employees, and I was even lucky to meet CEO Tobias Lütke and get a tour of the old offices above Tucker's Marketplace!

I am continuously blown away by the whole culture and how forward-thinking Shopify is proving to be. It's no wonder they show no signs of slowing in growth. The company as a whole is living proof that when you combine an incredibly talented, cooperative team, and an inspiring work environment, the results can be extraordinary.

I have heard first hand from multiple people (most of them ex-Apple employees) how happy they are to go to work every day, and I am willing to accept the challenge and do everything in my power to be able to experience this right alongside them.

In case you're wondering, the fine gentlemen I was talking about include the likes of Sumit Sekhri, Chris Wilson, Alexander Profeit, Nick Renaud, Andrew Paliga, and many more. With this being said, I hereby give you full permission to approach them and validate why I would be a good fit with your team! :)

I am not here to gloat or brag about myself. I would, however, love to tell you why I genuinely think I would be a very accomplished guru, and therefore a wonderful addition to your team.
