Patience

Everyone has heard the saying "Patience is a virtue." One cannot fully understand this phrase until they have worked customer service. I believe patience would be one of the most important attributes to have while practicing the role of a Guru, given the "Customer Service" nature of the business. Each and every shop owner will learn at his/her unique, individual pace and their Guru must be able to mirror this and make them feel comfortable with their work.

I have always been known as a very patient person, but this trait is best shown in my current role as a Specialist at the Apple Store, Rideau Centre. I have shown patience while answering questions about products, but even more so while teaching how to use them, as customers of all ages and skill-sets would often seek my help. Many customers have told me they appreciated how I allowed them to feel comfortable and learn at their own pace.
